We’re interested in homesteading and trying new things. We enjoy canning and freezing delicious garden and orchard produce. We’re currently experimenting with various fermentations like sourdough, yogurt, and kombucha! We will have a litter of Old-Time Scotch Collies in March 2025. Previously, we’ve raised chickens for meat and eggs and may pursue poultry in the future.
Welcome to Heartland Farmette, where we’re living life on the prairie in the Illinois heartland. We pursue various homesteading things in our small corner of the world. We love to garden. We converted a small part of a crop field to a prairie, woody perennials, and an orchard. We raise Old-Time Scotch Collies. Previously, we’ve kept chickens for meat and eggs and may pursue raising poultry in the future. Stay tuned!
