2025 litter

Welcome to the puppy updates!

October 27, 2025

Heartland’s Saffira is still available. She’s up to date on vaccinations, genetically clear by parentage, and puppy registered. She’s in her teenage stage and a little bit of a challenge currently. She’s shown some reactivity in certain situations. We recently brought home a new puppy (Mountain Wave Anwen) and she has loved having her, although is a little too boisterous sometimes!

Saffy and Anwen playing

Saffy is crate trained, but not house trained. She would make a good guardian and vermin hunter for someone’s property.

Heartland’s Saffira will be 7 months before I know it! She’s a fun-loving ornery pup. She would be a great candidate for agility, rally, dock diving maybe? She has moderate energy, athletic, and curious. She will do great hunting rodents as well I suspect.

She is affectionate and does enjoy hanging out with me. I have good garden helpers.

Finding things to chew.

Saffy is clear of CEA and MDR1 by parentage, and lot of room for potential with additional training and socialization.

Delta and Saffira are almost 6 months and still available! They’ve enjoyed cooling off in water play with how hot it’s been this summer. Saffy loves the water but Delta’s not to sure. Saffy may eventually like dock diving.

They love to romp around and do a good job of checking in with me or just hanging out when they’re done playing with each other.

Delta is very sweet, low energy, and more reserved. He loves to find dead things…Saff is moderate energy level, spunky, sweet, and keen to know what’s going on.

Well we have reached 14 weeks! We take daily walks and working on commands and the leash. Saffy is now available and sweet as can be. Up to date on vaccinations, wormings, flea tick and heartworm preventative. I had considered keeping her but have decided not to. She would still make a great breeding prospect and excellent farm hand!

We’ve been enjoying the beautiful weather the last few days. Most of the puppies are in their new homes! We do have one male pup that became available, Delta. He’s a sweet boy and has quite the nose on him! He’s 12 weeks old.

We do a lot of walking on the long lead and working on sitting and following along.

Oh my goodness, I’ve missed a week+ on posting. We’ve had a busy couple weeks and weekends with birthday and holiday travel. Puppies are starting to go their new home too. It’s a fun and bittersweet time.

Morning play

I took Saffira for a class visit at my kids’ school. She did great!

Saffy soaking up the love.

I introduced a new toy. The pups sure enjoyed the tunnel.

Lastly, all the pups are spoken for!

Time is flying by with these cuties. It’s fun to see their personalities develop. We go for walks out to the prairie every morning.

They love the fresh sniffs.

We started familiarizing the puppies with a long lead and leash.

All the pups were vetted for their 8 week updates. They did a good job and the vet tech complimented them on their calmness.

We’re working on sitting and staying calm when giving treats. And a new sniff activity: treat hunt.

We’re gradually separating puppies at night in intervals to crate with a small pen and litter available.

Lastly, a few puppies are heading to their new homes this week!

Happy Earth Day! The puppies are 7 weeks old and enjoying some of the nice spring weather we’ve been having. We had a lovely holiday weekend and the pups met some new friends as well.

A couple of local trainers were able to come out and graciously do the Volhard PAT. I got to peek during one test.

We enjoyed some time in a new area to play this morning and practice recall.

April 14, 2025

Look at these cuties! We had a great week. Goodness, 6 weeks old already. They are almost weaned and eating hard kibble now like champs.

Lots of exploring and trying new things.

Looking forward to a Volhard test for the puppies later this week. There are 3 puppies available!

April 7, 2025

These cuties are 5 weeks. We’ve had a busy week of exploring some new spaces in the house and outside for new sounds and textures along with interesting smells.

We worked on filing nails again and they all did great.

We introduced a few puppies to some new friends as well.

There are four puppies available so please reach out for an application or any questions! heartlandfarmette@gmail.com

I can’t believe how fast this time is flying by. 4 weeks old! The puppies had lots of new experiences this last week.

New pen set up. Spoiler alert, it doesn’t stay this clean yet! The puppies wore themselves out playing outside earlier.

With the warmer weather, the pups have been spending time during the day in our outside kennel later this week. Lastly, I redid their pen to start litter training!

March 23, 2025

The puppies are getting more mobile and playful at three weeks old!

We had more visitors and cuddles this weekend. And, they met Snow who graciously tolerated them for a short while.

Lastly, briefly filed front nails using a pumice stone and working on handling paws.

March 19, 2025

The puppies were two weeks old this past weekend and all have their eyes open now. We had a fun weekend with family visiting and having puppy cuddle time.

March 10, 2025

The puppies are a little over one week old. They have been getting cuddles indoors and outdoors. They also had a brief foray in the sunshine while I changed bedding this weekend.

We’re working on principles of early neurological stimulation as well for several more days (e.g., tactile stimulation, head held erect, supine position).

March 3, 2025

CeCe delivered a healthy litter March 1, 2025. There are 5 males and 3 females in a variety of colors!

There are 2 sable merles, 2 mostly white with masking and a spot or two, 2 dark sable and white, 1 blue merle, and 1 which may be a sable merle or merle! The merle is strong in this litter. 😊

Female on left- blue markings and mask. Male on right-sable markings and mask.

The rest of the mix, with full white collars.

Puppy pile! 😍

The kids have been so excited and helpful.

Welcome to Heartland Farmette, where we’re living life on the prairie in the Illinois heartland. We pursue various homesteading things in our small corner of the world. We love to garden. We converted a small part of a crop field to a prairie, woody perennials, and an orchard. We raise Old-Time Scotch Collies. Previously, we’ve kept chickens for meat and eggs and may pursue raising poultry in the future. Stay tuned! We love our little slice of heaven where we’re able to pursue our passion of stewarding the environment around us.
